Historic Fort George

Visitors to Fort George National Historic Site can step back in time to experience the early military history of Niagara.

Historic Fort George is, by far, one of the most interesting places to visit in Niagara on the Lake.

Take a step back in time to the 19th century and tour the military architecture. You can see the Blockhouses, Officers' Quarters, and Guard House, as well as the powder magazine, which is the oldest military building in Ontario, and the only surviving building of the Battle of Fort George. During the summer, you can experience live demonstrations, and taste traditionally prepared food in the Officer's Kitchen.
